Last week I did a fun segment for NBC Channel 4 News in Los Angeles. Read the write-up, or see the video below.

Pili wanted a look that gave her the versatility of either just lounging around the pool or getting in. Now in her thirties, she felt like she wanted to wear something that she felt comfortable in but gave her the confidence to relax in a poolside setting. In my opinion there comes a point where you can’t be the girl running around in the bikini any more, but there are ways to look fun and fresh and young. She arrived in rolled up jeans and a boatneck T-shirt with her bathing suit underneath. She felt her skin needed coverage but didn’t want to look overly made-up.

• For her make-up I used Skinn’s High Definition Cotton & Mineral Foundation with SPF 15 built in. This will keep her fresh and protected all day while supplying just the right amount of coverage she needs. To play up her blue eyes I used Smudge Stick in Venus, and the golden shades in the Capri Eyeshadows for her eyes. I also used the Capri Bronzer to sculpt her face and highlight her features. To finish off her look, Tint & Shine in Ciao Bella.

• To create her comfortable and confident look we chose a trendy maxi dress with a twist! The top part of the dress gave the illusion of a bikini top and the full skirt gave her a sleek and sexy silhouette. She could also wear a bikini that matched the style of her dress underneath if she liked. We paired it with a large bright tote that doubles as her purse and pool bag.

Pili looked fresh, modern, classy and ready to have fun at the pool party. Her make-up gave her just the coverage she needed while making it easy to just touch up the mineral foundation in case she went into the water. Out of all three this is the most versatile look that can work with anybody. I especially love it for moms, modest gals and those who want to fit in at a pool party without having to wearing a bathing suit.

Check back to see the other women and their success stories throughout the week. Here’s a quick link to see Part 1 and Part 3.

Have a Beautiful Day,
