New Year, New Skinn

New Year, New Skinn

The holidays can really do a number on your skin. All the sweet treats, late nights, and blustery winter weather can leave your feeling less than your usually fabulous self. Not to worry, though! As skincare experts, we’re sharing our top tips for giving your beauty routine a much-needed New Year’s refresh. Read on for advice on how to get a radiant, revitalized, healthy glow, even in these dry winter months.

1. Drink more water.

Want skin to look hydrated and fresh? Like the old adage about beauty, hydration comes from within. Set an alarm on your phone to make eight 8-ounce servings of water a habit. Drinking your recommended serving of water each day will help skin look less dull and can even help decrease the appearance of pores, acne, and wrinkles.

2. Cleanse skin thoroughly and properly.

Did you know that your skin has different needs in the morning than it does at night? Here are the basic cleansing steps to meet your skin’s needs in both the AM and PM:

AM – Use our Sulfate Free Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. This lightweight yet lavish facial cleanser will give you the boost you need to start your day! Start by splashing warm water on your skin. Massage the cleanser onto your face with your fingertips, a washcloth, or your NuSonic by Skinn Face & Body Cleansing Tool in circular motions for one minute. Rinse off with plenty of warm water.

PM – Apply our sweet-smelling and multi-tasking Olive & Enzyme Rich Balm Cleanser on dry skin to break down dirt, grime, pollution, and to remove your makeup. Rinse with a warm, wet washcloth. Its creamy and buttery texture effortlessly glides onto skin, leaving no unwanted impurities behind. Tip: for a deep cleansing mask, leave on for 5-10 minutes then rinse.

3. Moisturize.

Shake up your daily routine. Apply our fan favorite PEP40 Crème Riche morning and night for visibly smoother, softer skin. Exquisitely textured, this formula melts effortlessly into skin, dissolving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while delivering intense hydration to the skin.

4. Don’t skip the serum.

Use our PEP40 Sérum Riche AM and PM. Apply all over face and neck in circular motions after cleansing. With this serum, complex bioactive peptides work overtime to support cell regeneration and stimulate collagen production, reducing the appearance and depth of fine lines and wrinkles, while vitamins, extracts, oils and botanicals combine to promote elasticity and nourish, hydrate and soothe the skin.

For the eye area, utilize our PEP40 Sérum Eye morning and night. Gently apply a single pump of upper lid lifting treatment to the upper lid region of the eye and a single pump of the hydrating, peptide-rich treatment to the lower lid region. Each use dramatically improves the lift and appearance of the upper lid and reduces the fine lines, puffiness and loss of elasticity of the lower lid, leaving the total eye area soft, supple and primed for a smooth, crease-free makeup application.

5. Treat your skin.

Get the benefits of a professional microdermabrasion treatment from the comfort of your own home. Here’s how to use our DermAppeal® Microdermabrasion Treatment to reduce the look of pores and wrinkles for smoother, softer skin:

Step 1: Clean your skin with one of our signature cleansers.

Step 2: Apply warm water to your face.

Step 3: Put a quarter size amount of DermAppeal in your hand and rub both hands together. (Make sure not to get water in the jar.)

Step 4: Apply DermAppeal to your face and neck, and start to buff and polish while anchoring your skin. Be gentle around the eye area.

Step 5: When you’re finished polishing, close your eyes and splash your face with lots of warm water. Use a warm wash cloth to remove the last traces of DermAppeal if needed.

Tip: Use DermAppeal 2-4 times a week. Those with sensitive skin should use less often.

Give your skin a little extra TLC this winter for a healthy, hydrated look that’s always in style. Take charge of your skincare routine and follow these steps for your most fresh-faced year yet!
